The Code Compliance Unit strives to improve the safety, welfare and quality of life for our citizens and business community. Maintaining your neighborhood is the primary responsibility of the Code Compliance Unit. We are a community based unit that seeks to achieve voluntary compliance.

The Code Compliance Officers monitor the residential and business community for potential violations. We enforce such violations by using the Town of Medley Codes and Ordinances, Florida State Statues, Florida Building Codes as well as Miami-Dade County Codes.

Our Code Compliance Officers patrol the Town of Medley proactively identifying violations, but concerned citizens may also call or e-mail with reports of violations. We investigate all calls and e-mails as well as anonymous calls.

2020 Special Magistrate Hearing Agendas

Special Magistrate

The Special Magistrate has jurisdiction to hear violations of all codes and ordinances of the Town of and Miami-Dade County with most cases arising out of violations of the Town’s code for property maintenance, building and zoning in order to maintain minimum health, safety standards and welfare of citizens, visitors and the business community. The Special Magistrate is also authorized to hold hearings and impose fines, liens and other NON-criminal penalties against violators.
